Fort McMurray Ghosts: It Crawled Very Fast Across My Bed

Ghost report from Emilee on June 4, 2015:

“I lived in a house in July, in thick wood. It was upstairs in a house apartment. We were living there for maybe a month. I was home alone watching TV, and I could see the hallway perfectly the way I was sitting. I heard walking down the hallway and then saw a black figure walk around the corner. I jumped up and it went back around the corner after a second. I walked over there thinking someone was in the house, but there wasn’t anything there. I checked the bedrooms and closet, and nothing.

A few days later I had a nightmare that seemed so real. I was laying in my bed the same way in my dream as I was actually laying. I heard my room door open and then loud foot steps walk to the end of my bed. Then all of a sudden someone was crawling very fast across my bed until they got to my head and started choking me. I was trying to yell for help but then I woke my self up by grasping for air and then yelling “No”. My room door was open, and it was shut when I went to sleep.

I always felt like someone was watching me, and in the corner of my eyes I would see the black figure creeping towards me.

In November another day I was home alone. I was in the shower and heard loud footsteps again. Then all of a sudden I felt a hand grab my hair and run its hand through my hair. I step away and turn around and the shower curtain was pulled back and swinging.

Another time I was in the shower and home alone I was listening to music. It was a song I knew very well. And then I heard a deep man voice say “I’m angry”.
I jump out of the shower and played that part of the song again and it definitely wasn’t the music.

I no longer live in that house, and just found out that the women that lived in the basement apartment of the house saw the same black figure and it did the walking out from the corner thing it did to me. She has video evidence of the creepy black figure and that it actually exists. I have been trying to get a hold of her for the video, but I can’t get a hold of her or find her.”

True Ghost Story: Gunshots From The Spirit World

Location: Fort McMurray, AlbertaCanada

The following report was sent into our website by Josh on Feb 4, 2013:

“My wife, son (18 Months old now) and I moved into an older duplex in Thickwood, Fort McMurray in the fall of 2012. My father was also living with us at the time. We always had minor “weird” things happen such at sensor light over the deck turning on when nothing is outside, or strange noises such as the stairs creaking, or bangs. But we have always contributed these to the house settling, or the bang to something not inside the house. We have always had strange feelings ever since we moved into this house. Like no matter how tight we locked the windows or doors, it always felt like someone else was there.

Recently, things have been happening more often and more clearly. Almost a month ago my wife woke up saying she heard what sounded like a gunshot, and the noise was very clear and close (inside the house or not far outside). So I got up as usual and done my tour of the house, checked on our son, looked out the window, and as always nothing was there. There are times I’m forced to do this multiple times a night. The noises are getting worse by the night. The stairs are creaking for a few seconds, then stopping as if someone is slowly walking up and down them over and over.

A few nights ago I was drifting off to sleep, half awake and half asleep, when the sound of a cupboard door slamming jarred me from my sleep. Right away I got up and done my normal tour of the house checking the kitchen, living room, bathrooms, out the windows, and my son before returning back to bed quite freaked out at this point.

Yesterday morning I awoke to do my normal routine of getting up and walking out to start mine and my wife’s trucks to allow them time to warm up, then head back to bed for 15 minutes or so while I take a short snooze. I wasn’t back in bed for 5 minutes when I heard the sound clear as day of someone lifting the lid on our washing machine and just letting it drop. Right away I got up and done my tour of the house and lets just say I never got my snooze that morning.

Yesterday evening I had been locked out of the house so I went across the alley to my landlord’s daughter to see if they had a key for the place. Upon returning the key I was chatting with her husband and told him how I believe the house may be haunted. He responded with a story of how not too long ago there was a girl that lived just up the street and used to babysit for a lot of people in the neighbourhood including the people that was living in his house at the time. I am not sure if she babysat for anyone in our home. While she was babysitting at that house she committed suicide, shot herself in the head. My landlords also own that house and they owned it at the time this happened and had came in after the fact to do some work to remove the bloodstains from the house. So I went home thinking about that yesterday evening, and went home and sat on my computer with my son on my lap. A while later one of his toys in his toy box started to make its sounds for no apparent reason and had been sitting in there for a number of hours. I got up and moved the toy, and later put my son to bed in his own room.

Later that night when my wife got home and we went to bed the stairs started creaking as usual, and then another toy started making noises from my son’s room. I got up to check on him to see if he was awake but he was out cold. The toy that was making the noise was near the bottom of his toy hamper and has been there for weeks or months now and there was nothing I could find that would of set it off in such a manner. It would make its noises then stop, then a few minutes later would start again until I did take it out of the toy hamper. I then went back to bed very freaked out and tried to get some sleep, as I now had to be up for work in 4.5 hours.

I didn’t sleep well last night hearing every creek of the stairs and every little noise…”

True Ghost Story: The Ghost That Imitates Voices

Location: Fort McMurray, AlbertaCanada

The following report was sent into our website by Samantha on Jan 12, 2012:

“Me and my family experienced many things. We believed this ghost was one that would imitate voices of friends/loved ones. My brother was in the shower, home alone. Now, he has a best friend that would always be over, they were best friends. Anyways, he was in the shower and heard his friend call his name. So he got out and checked, no one home.

Another one, my mom saw my brother’s best friend wearing her jacket walking downstairs. She looked down, seen her coat on the banister and no one home. This all happened in the middle of the day.

Me and my brother would always end up in the hallway around midnight, when we thought we heard someone running up the stairs to our rooms, we were side by side. We would go out, again no one there.

Now, this is hard to explain, but you know how if you have stairs, there is some medal bars so you can see the landing where the stairs turn? Anyways, I was home alone. My parents were at work and my brother was at a friend’s. We had a mirror in the living room, and at the right angle you can see the landing of the stairs. At that time we had a dog. Now, I was watching tv with my dog on the floor. All of a sudden she starts growling, and her hair stands up. She started barking like crazy at the mirror, and I was freaked. She finally stopped after 5 minutes of me calming her down, so I ran around and turned on all the lights.

One night, I was in bed. I just turned my tv off and turned on my fan. I laid down. Now, every now and then my brother would come into my room and take my fan. So, I seen something by my fan, about the height of my brother. So I told him to leave it. It started to pace my room and then left. I went to my brother’s room, he was playing a game, oblivious to the world. I was freaked. I went back to bed, and about 20 minutes later my light fixture fell off my lighting.

ANOTHER time, my step-dad went down a flight of stairs to our downstairs washroom. We had a big stereo where you would push the door to open, and push the door to close. Well, he seen someone crouched down clicking it open and closed. He ran upstairs.

And one last thing, I had a Gameboy and I put it down to go use the washroom. When I came back out, the volume was turned down.

And my step-dad heard me ask him to take me to the store. He replied, but I did not speak back. Turns out I was already gone for school. Creepy!”

True Ghost Story: Rock Throwing and Shaking Bed

Location: Fort McMurray, AlbertaCanada

The following report was sent into our website by Emily on December 30, 2009:

“Okay I was 11 years old when I experienced this stuff so keep that in mind. I was in my room by myself and listening to this cd that I got for Christmas. So once I was finished listening to it and was starting it over, I heard this really LOUD banging. It was like someone was throwing rocks at the window. So I opened up my shades and looked out the window but no one was there. So I just shrugged it off and played the cd again. After I played it over 5 times, I heard this loud banging again, but this time it was from the back of my headboard to my bed. It was almost like someone was having a tantrum and pounding their fists to the ground. I turned on the light and peered behind, but there wasn’t anyone there. And when I got out of bed and walked into my closet, I swore it felt at least 5 degees colder than it used to be. So I turned off my lamp and ran out of my room as fast as I could.

I later came back and looked behind the headboard and-of course-no one was there. I checked under the bed and saw nothing, and my closet too. So I grabbed a water bottle used to keep Holy Water in that my mom kept in the closet and used the whole bottle to sprinkle it on my window, under my bed, on my bed, my walls, behind the headboard, my closet and the floor. Now I still heard someone throw rocks at my window, heard banging behind my headboards and even had it feel at least 3 degrees colder in my closet but it still wasn’t as bad as it used to be. Weird, huh?”

True Ghost Story: Green Man In the Basement

Location: Fort McMurray, AlbertaCanada

The following report was sent into our website by Lisa on May 4, 2009:

“I lived in this old house in Thickwood. My sister and I each had a room in the basement. Every night my sister would sleep with our little dog Molly. One night while getting ready for bed my dog started freaking out and backed herself into a corner. She started yelping and crying, her tail was between her legs. She finally unfroze and ran upstairs, naturally my sister and I ran to my dad. He checked things out and there seemed to be no sign of anything, and Molly was calm by then but still wouldn’t go into the basement. Later on that night my sister came and slept in my room. The next day she told me she saw a man in green walking from her room into mine. As if that wasn’t freaky enough, my boyfriend’s son came over and wouldn’t go into the basement, he said he was scared of the green man with dirt under his nails.”

True Ghost Story: Books At Store Falling Off The Shelves

Location: Fort McMurray, AlbertaCanada

The following report was sent into our website by Melissa on March 18, 2007:

“There is a store in the local mall that I have been told is haunted. I worked there for about a year, but nothing ever happened that I noticed. My friends (who also worked at this store) often tell me this is because I am incredibly oblivious at the best of times, or that I would often write off things like objects moved or missing to me having a terrible memory (which sadly, I do.)

My friends often had dealings with this ghost, often if no one else was present in the store. There would be merchandise that went missing and reappear in odd places, and books that would fall off the shelves while the aisles were empty. This wouldn’t be odd, but the books that fell weren’t in precarious positions. We would find books on the floor, put them back, walk away only to find the book on the floor again when we returned.

My friends often got frustrated when they couldn’t find the item they were looking for and say ” where is this damn book” or some such comment. They would then turn around and find the exact book they were looking for half pulled out of the shelf.

These occurrences were commonplace for most of us (although, again, I never noticed anything. Captain Oblivious, they call me). They even affectionately called the ghost Ted, or Fred, and would often thank him if he was being helpful, or snap at him when he was being obnoxious. We were pretty comfortable with him there, and he never seemed to bother us aside from the harmless pranks.

I stopped working at the store when I moved away for school, and none of my friends work at the store anymore, but I sometimes wonder if he’s still there. I’ve never had the nerve to ask the new people if they’ve noticed anything.”
