Calgary Ghosts: Haunted Victorian Antique

Calgary Ghosts Haunted Victorian Antique

Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Ghost report from Bonnie on February 24, 2016:

“In 1992 my daughter, who was 20, purchased an 1890 armoire from an antique dealer in Calgary. I did not feel comfortable with it from the day they brought it into the house.

About 2 months after the purchase I was home alone and thought maybe if I cleaned it up a bit and waxed it I might feel differently towards it. When I was finished I went to the basement and threw the clothes into the washer.

I then proceeded to clean the mirror in the bathroom in the basement. As I was wiping the foam off of the mirror I saw a woman walk behind me. She was looking straight ahead, not looking at me. She had on a white dress with a mandarin-type collar with lace. She had long, dark hair, tied back at the nape of her neck. I turned around quickly but there was no one there. I ran up the stairs and the rest of the day was on edge.

That night I tried to tell my husband what I saw. He has never believed in ghosts so was barely listening. A few minutes later the room we were in turned freezing cold. As it was not cold outside it was very strange.

The next evening I came home from work and the radio was playing in the kitchen. Very strange because that radio was seldom turned on. While I was cooking, the light burned out in the kitchen followed later in the evening by the light at the back entrance. The next night our TV turned off while we were watching it.

I told some of the people from work what was happening and they started calling her “Victoria” because she appeared to come from the Victorian Era.

During the next week or so we had several things happen:

1. I went out for supper with my daughter and her boyfriend. When we were seated, the waiter ask what happened to the lady that was with us. He swore another lady was with us when we came in.

2. I was out for lunch with a coworker and she ask about Victoria. When I proceed to tell her, a cream container in a bowl on the table popped it’s lid and sprayed us both with milk.

Whatever or whoever it was seemed to be getting more aggressive with things falling, hot spots, cold spots and noises.

The final happening was in the evening. I was home alone trying to watch TV and knit. I was getting uncomfortable and it was getting dark so I took my dog upstairs and got ready for bed. I shut the bedroom door but had not locked it. I was reading a book in bed when my little dog got up and went to the end of the bed. His ears were standing up and he was growling. I started to get up to lock the door when the door banged, as if hit, and flew open. The room was immediately cold. Neither the dog nor I got much sleep that night.

The next morning when I got up, the house seemed at peace. I told my husband that whatever it was is gone.

Later that morning a friend of my son’s came over. His parents’ house was across the alley from our house. He said he was coming home the night before and he was late. He pulled up to their garage, the garage door opened and he had not pushed the button. He thought one of his parents must be waiting for him and was in the garage, so he pulled in. The door immediately shut. He said he was scared because there were no lights on and he couldn’t see anyone in the garage. He finally got up the nerve to run from the car into the house. His parents were in bed.

I think it was at that point that Victoria left our house and she was looking for another place to go.

My daughter still has the armoire. Her husband offered for me to take it last year when they moved out of Canada. I told him, “Not for a million dollars would it come back to my house.”

Edmonton Ghosts: Face in the Mirror

ghosts haunted paranormal Edmonton Alberta Canada

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Ghost report from Rhiannon on December 3, 2015:

“One night during the summer I was on FaceTime with a friend and she saw something in my mirror. I couldn’t see it so she took a screenshot and sent it to me. When you look at it closely you can see a face, shaped as a skull. The photo creeped me out so I washed my mirror and all my windows.

When I woke up the next morning there were small hand prints on my mirror. I thought that maybe it was just my siblings messing with me, so I just ignored it.

The next few days after that I kept getting woken up at exactly 3am in the morning by weird noises in my bathroom. So I would get up and open the bathroom door and there was nothing, no one in there. After that I started covering the mirror on the bathroom door with a blanket and nothing happened for a while.

A few weeks later I figured that whatever was in my room was gone, so I stopped covering the mirror.

That night I was woken by the noise of my dog barking at something in the corner, but I didn’t see anything. A little bit later I woke up because I felt like I couldn’t breathe. When I looked up there was a black shadow figure standing at the end of my bed. I blinked and it was gone.

I never saw it again, it disappeared and was gone out of my life for good.”

Eckville Ghosts: Orb Flies Through Wall

Eckville Alberta Canada ghosts haunted paranormal

Location: Eckville, Alberta, Canada

Ghost report from Christina on July 17, 2015:

“My story happened in my home in October 2011.

I had a box in the entry way between my kitchen and living room. I was getting ready to leave my home to go to work around 5:30 am when, what I thought was my cat, I saw at the corner of my eye at floor level where I had placed this cardboard box. I thought this to be strange because I had let the cat out of the house only a few minutes prior to seeing this thing at the corner of my eye.

When I looked down towards the box I said, “Kitty?”. But instead of seeing what I thought was my cat I saw a smoke-coloured blerb that resembled a talk bubble in a comic strip tightly and very silently circle the box. It went around the box and out through the living room wall and disappeared.

The same time the next morning hovering this time over the box was a grayish mass that again I caught in the corner of my eye. When I looked up to see what it was, it completely disappeared!”

Fort McMurray Ghosts: It Crawled Very Fast Across My Bed

Fort McMurray ghosts haunted paranormal Alberta Canada

Location: Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada

Ghost report from Emilee on June 4, 2015:

“I lived in a house in July, in thick wood. It was upstairs in a house apartment. We were living there for maybe a month. I was home alone watching TV, and I could see the hallway perfectly the way I was sitting. I heard walking down the hallway and then saw a black figure walk around the corner. I jumped up and it went back around the corner after a second. I walked over there thinking someone was in the house, but there wasn’t anything there. I checked the bedrooms and closet, and nothing.

A few days later I had a nightmare that seemed so real. I was laying in my bed the same way in my dream as I was actually laying. I heard my room door open and then loud foot steps walk to the end of my bed. Then all of a sudden someone was crawling very fast across my bed until they got to my head and started choking me. I was trying to yell for help but then I woke my self up by grasping for air and then yelling “No”. My room door was open, and it was shut when I went to sleep.

I always felt like someone was watching me, and in the corner of my eyes I would see the black figure creeping towards me.

In November another day I was home alone. I was in the shower and heard loud footsteps again. Then all of a sudden I felt a hand grab my hair and run its hand through my hair. I step away and turn around and the shower curtain was pulled back and swinging.

Another time I was in the shower and home alone I was listening to music. It was a song I knew very well. And then I heard a deep man voice say “I’m angry”.
I jump out of the shower and played that part of the song again and it definitely wasn’t the music.

I no longer live in that house, and just found out that the women that lived in the basement apartment of the house saw the same black figure and it did the walking out from the corner thing it did to me. She has video evidence of the creepy black figure and that it actually exists. I have been trying to get a hold of her for the video, but I can’t get a hold of her or find her.”

Grand Prairie Ghosts: White Mass of Fog

Grand Prairie ghosts haunted paranormal Alberta Canada

Location: Grand Prairie, Alberta, Canada

Ghost report from Ashley on April 12, 2014:

“I have always been a little different, although I can’t explain in words how. I have had numerous incidents with strange things happening to me or things I’ve seen.

I lived in an older house in Hythe, Alberta. One night I woke up to my grandmother calling my name. I answered her not thinking clearly. I sat up and my curtains were flowing, no vent near the window, and window was not open. This freaked me out, because my grandmother has long been dead.

I ended up moving into a brand new house in O’Brien Lake in Grande Prairie. It was myself and one bible thumper living there. He had been gone away for work for some time. I was up until 2am studying, I decided it was time for bed. I laid in my bed and looked up casually and noticed my attic entry was pushed up. My stomach dropped and adrenaline flooded my body. I called the guy I was seeing and told him I HAD to come over. I couldn’t sleep for two days..I began getting nightmares. I slept at his place for two weeks. Since then I felt like I was being watched alone in bedrooms. I am also a very active dreamer. My boyfriend told me I was talking in my sleep and I would sit up very fast and say things like “there’s too many people in here”. I explained what happened to my roommate.. he didn’t like the thought of me living there anymore and I moved shortly after.

I babysat for a friend often, she would work night shift. I slept in the spare room in the basement. A few times I woke up and the bed was shaking. As if I had been dropped on the bed. Like bouncing sort of. That was terrifying.

I worked a lot of night shifts at the hospital as well. One night I was reading and I briefly looked up and I saw a white mass of fog move as a body down the hallway of the hospital.. it was going fast enough. When I go to the staff room on nights I always feel that there is someone else in there with me..even when I’m alone.

I currently live with my best friend in her house. The lights will flicker often. And the basement light will turn on by itself. I didn’t think anything of it, maybe poor electrical right. Since we moved in I felt like someone was there with us.. I always thought they were an older person, kinda like a homemaker or something. I asked a psychic about it, she said yes there is an old lady in our house.. my great-grandmother or something.. she followed me. Our roommates crack jokes a lot about this. Unsure if we believe it or not.

One night myself and a roommate were making a carrot cake in the kitchen, and we made a comment about “is this enough icing”. And then my friend said “I don’t know maybe we should ask nana”…so we laughed and asked her.. we laughed about it for a moment and carried on. Five minutes later the TV in the next room turned on by itself. We just looked at each other for a while and then laughed. The faucets will turn on slightly by themselves as well.

So those are just a few examples.”

Rycroft Ghosts: His Clothes Were Torn Up And Bleeding

Location: Rycroft, Alberta, Canada

The following report was sent into our website by Peg on February 12, 2015:

“I am a ghost magnet. I have three stories to tell.

When I was small my family had lots of land but little money so the community came together to help provide a home for us. An old hall and an old church were torn down for lumber to build our house. My family grew up with tea pots that brewed on their own, dishes that floated from cupboard to sink. And Jimmy. He was invisible to our parents and knew how to play pranks by hiding things. We would watch him shred a suit in the closet without anyone near. When my sister was born he decided the place was crowded and left.

As a teen my brother and I often helped on neighbors’ farms to get the harvest in on time. One neighbor had built a home on the property that used to be school land. No other building was ever built there. Shortly after construction was finished an old man was often seen in the yard. The neighbor paid no attention to this as there were older people in the area who would often walk fences looking for breaks. One day the owner was surprised to find an old man in his kitchen and called to him, asking if he would like to stay for coffee. The old man turned around and the neighbor saw that the man’s clothes were all torn up and bleeding and the old man disappeared. Later we found out that many years previous, a man had disappeared when he was out hunting a bear that had attacked his cows. This event happened in Blueberry Mnt. community.

Shortly after my divorce I bought a trailer that had been listed as non-habitable by the town. The previous owners had been known drug users and the place was trashed. As I renovated and brought the place back up to code there was a series of odd events. The front door would open and close on its own. I changed the door frame and installed new locks, it still opened and closed on its own. I did not own a dog and yet dog food dishes would keep appearing near the back door and neighborhood dogs would often run up to the door after it opened by itself as if to greet someone only they could see. When I moved into the place I chose the larger bedroom. After a few weeks I moved to the other one because the room would suddenly get cold, even in summer. I would often awake in the middle of the night because the living room rug would be thrown at me while I slept. Canned food would get moved in my kitchen and the stove would turn on by itself. Always the burner on the right. I found out that a young man had overdosed in the house and that burner was the one he had used to heat knives with. There is more to this story, but it makes me sad to tell it. I sold the place and the new owner has had similar experiences. She is a senior and owns a dog, she says she does not mind sharing with a ghost.”
