“We moved into an apartment in North Bay on Worthington Street West. It was a building with a barber shop downstairs, an upstairs apartment and downstairs apartment. When we first looked at the apartment there were two doors with no handles, only locks. We asked the landlord what was in those rooms and he stated it was storage. We asked to see in the rooms and he never wanted to show us. As we had no other option we had to move in to that apartment.
There was always cold drafts of air coming from the 2 rooms from under the door. This seemed a little strange, but we just associated it with the building being old. Shortly after we moved in things started to happen.
A box of Kraft dinner went flying from on the counter to across the room hitting the wall on the other side. A couple of weeks later I went into the kitchen only to see the 26 ounce bottle of alcohol was parallel to the top of the fridge standing up floating in mid air. As soon as I saw it, the bottle fell to the floor and landed standing up as if someone had picked it up and put it down on the ground.
I also woke up with the front of my hair cut only on one side, and then a couple days later I woke up to have it both the same length….. I accused my boyfriend of trying to scare me and he swears to this day that he never did it…..
We would be woken up during the night by something running up the stairs to our apartment or running something through our metal vertical blinds.
The last straw was when we woke up to a party downstairs. We could hear people talking downstairs, the water was running, it sounded like there was a party which would not be unusual except for the fact that no one else was living there……. We were the only ones in the building when all this happened. The bottom apartment was vacant . At first we thought people had broken in downstairs and were using it as a party place but in the morning when I went to look outside there was not one foot print in the snow leading to the downstairs apartment. As soon as we were able to find another place to live we moved the heck out of there.”
“It was about 4:30-5:00AM in early June. I got up to let the dogs out for a pee; our back yard is fenced in. Our sunroom has two doors. I opened the door and they went out through the back aluminum door in the back yard.
For some reason I went to the side aluminum door that leads out onto our drive way. I turned to the door way to the back yard (the one the dogs used) when I see a soldier standing in front of me.
In my mind I am thinking, “how did you get in the door?” As it was only propped open about 6″ so the dogs can let themselves in and out. My mind also thought, I can’t see the door frame behind him.
He was no older than 18 years, he blinked as he was looking back at me. He had a soldiers coat and flat-top hat on, greenish in colour and the brim of the hat was black. He had a gun behind his right side with a black strap that went over his right shoulder and down to his left side.
We stood staring at each other for about 1 to 2 minutes. I never spoke to him, I just had questions running through my mind. He disappeared and the dogs came back into the sunroom.
I let the dogs into the house, they went back to bed. I went to the bathroom where I was stunned with thoughts going through my mind as to what I saw. I went back to bed and my partner asked me what was wrong as he could see the puzzled look on my face. I told him the story.
We live very close to the Battle Field Grounds in Stoney Creek where the war of 1812 took place (June)….I can still see this young man in my head.
I have not seen him since, but he did goose me once when I had my hands full while in the sunroom.”
“We took possession of a rental house and weird things started happening pretty much from the day we moved in.
We had been given the ok to start moving in earlier than our lease date, so I started by bringing small items over with the van. Entering the house, I heard a loud bang at the back of the house, like it had come from the back bedroom. I called out thinking someone had managed to break in. No one answered so carefully I made my way into the house. The bedroom door was closed. Again I called out, but no answer came so I quickly opened the door expecting to find someone there, but the room was vacant. I did what most people do and blamed it on ‘new house noises’.
I left the door open and moved items in the house. I went back for more stuff at the other house. When I came back the bedroom door was closed and locked. This time I had my eldest son with me. I told him to stay at the front door for a minute. The door only had a basic lock on it; a quarter could turn it open. I opened it and again nothing there. I figured it had been my own error last time and some how figured I locked it last time.
So fast forward a little bit, Christmas season fast approaching. We’ve settled in now. We’ve heard noises that we can’t explain, we hear footsteps in the middle of the night. We assume it’s just our imaginations. We have a Christmas party. A good friend of ours comes up to my wife and says, “this house is haunted”. “Why do you say that?” my wife asks. “Well I just watched as that door slammed shut!” He was speaking of the same door that caused me so much paranoia when we first moved in. Prior to this we’ve told no one of our dealings with this situation. He would not be the last to tell us how creepy our home was.
A few days later after the party it’s around nine o’clock at night. Our kids are in bed. My wife and I are sitting in the living room watching TV when all of a sudden the room goes dark. The tv turned off, the Christmas tree lights go off and the window Christmas lights go off. We automatically think power outage but soon realize it’s just the living room. So I try to turn the TV back on, it doesn’t work. It is then that I discover it is unplugged, as is every other item in the living room. All the Christmas lights are individually unplugged. I felt this really horrible chill run down my neck as I realized there is absolutely no logical explanation of what had just occurred and as I’m considering this the back bedroom door closed. We heard it click. It was once again locked.
We moved out the following spring. We never said it was because of the paranormal issues. However it was why we moved. The eerie feeling of that house became too much.”
“Well gawd, where do I begin. OK, well, in 2000 my town house was built at Dun-Bloor. It was built on the old Michael Power school property on Resurrection Rd (good name for the street). Fun begins, let me tell you that house I believe ruined my marriage.
Right in front of the house is an Ontario low-income project called Mabelle Ave. My mother was relocated there and I convinced my husband to buy one of the town houses across the street so I could keep an eye on her. The house was still being built when something went terribly wrong…. My mother committed suicide in the year 2000, before my house was built.
By the time our house was built my mother was dead and I now had to live in a house that faced where she died. We were locked into a mortgage and it was out of the question for us to sell, so in 2001 we took possession.
Now for some reason I never felt alone and simply chalked it up to “my mother’s watching over me”, not so….
I would often find myself looking up at the staircase that led to the bed rooms on the second and third floor. The feeling kept growing stronger. When my husband went to work I’d stay down in the living room and stare constantly at the staircase, terrified to go up stairs until my husband came home from work.
One night my husband and I were getting ready for bed in the 3rd floor master bed suite and he layed down. I went into our bathroom to have a relaxing jacuzzi then I put on my pjs and lied down on our bed — husband in tow beside me. When all of a sudden I closed my eyes and felt something punch me in my head about 50 times from side to side. Literally I was getting boxed up both sides of my head full force. I couldn’t scream, just had to lay there and hope it would stop.
Finally when it stopped I confronted my husband and of course he was fast asleep and felt nothing. I wasn’t dreaming because I had just had a bath and just layed down. My goodness, my eyes literally just closed and this happened.
After that I was even more guarded about upstairs.
A few weeks later I was in our 3rd floor bedroom again and no sooner did I jump into bed but felt my two feet being pulled up straight. Then I felt something spin my whole body around so that my feet were now where my head was supposed to be on the pillow. My husband, who thought I was crazy, told me to go back to sleep and that I must have been dreaming.
The final straw was a few months after that. My husband was asleep and again we were upstairs in the bedroom and my lord didn’t I see a ghost of an elderly lady peeking out of my bathroom in our bedroom, not one word of a lie. She was wearing what looked to be a hospital gown, the type that is open at the back. This woman had shoulder-length grey, salt-and-pepper hair. She stood to be at least 6ft tall and had bare feet. Omg, she stood half way out of our master bathroom in our master bedroom.
I moved out of our master bedroom and stayed on the second floor in one of the bedrooms there. Still constantly having to leave my bedroom door open so I could monitor that stupid stair case I was so scared of. Needless to say, my marriage was in trouble after that.
You know what guys? After that I saw a man sitting on the end of our couch, knees held up in his arms rocking back and forth. Then I heard some deep voice say to me “heey now”. Also, separate occasion, I heard the same deep voice telling me to “stop it”. I was just loading the dish washer and I hate doing dishes any way so of course I don’t have to be told twice to stop it lol.
Bottom line, our marriage is no longer. I moved out of the house and he stayed.
Funny thing also I was reading the story about the Westmall blood and I too lived on the West Mall yet had no experiences there.
Since I left Resurrection Rd, me and my boyfriend now live in Mimico in a 3 story brown stone. And for some reason both my cats stare up at the ceiling crying or their eyes go right wide and they stare at the plain wall for hours following something. I haven’t seen anything but I did film my cat lying on the couch, and I think I captured an orb on camera. I saved it and still have it.
Mind you, I don’t feel threatened like I did when I lived in my matrimonial home on Resurrection Rd. Yet I can’t seem to shake the feeling that something followed me. Maybe it’s my dead mother who killed herself, who knows.”
“I was at a young age, living in a fly-in sub community of Lac Seul in the late 80’s before there was all road access. I had just come home from school and I wanted to see my boyfriend, puppy love as they called it. He lived in the other sub community of Whitefish Bay.
We were talking and butterflies in our stomachs because, you know, we liked each other a lot. Laughing and flirting a bit, teasing and talking about our day. I was lying on our couch, it was against the wall, my head hanging over the couch, giggling. My bedroom light was on. You know how the light shines onto the floor and the door frame shadows unto it? The light was a dim yellow because of the light bulbs we used. As the light shined, my head hanging over the couch, I saw a shadow of a head peaking around the shadow door but on the floor. I looked at the door thinking nothing of it, then I continued to talk.
As I did this the shadow head, shadow of a person appeared more. I could see the body shape, the shoulder and head. I sat up and looked towards the door. Thinking what was that? As soon as I sat up to look and looked on the floor then looked up towards the door frame, the shadow body and head moved back. Here I started to get scared, trembling to the point of crying. I was unable to move, scared to move to go and look in my room. My boyfriend said to me; “whats wrong? Your voice sounds funny”. I said; “I’m sorry but I got to go, call you back”.
I hung up. I stood up, shaking. I was a 8-9 year old kid. Scared out of my wits. I went to my bedroom, the air was kind of cool. Now that I think of it in my adulthood, it was cool, almost cold air.
When I think of this, at this point of time in my life, I want to know who visited me. I didn’t tell anyone of this, not even my parents or siblings. I only tell of it now that I am older.
I heard a lot of scary stories around our First Nation. I feel I am sensitive to Spirits. I saw this thing/ghost in our house. Now and again, I dream of our ‘old’ home. I know there are spirits everywhere.”
“My husband passed away 3 years ago and he always said that whoever between him and me was passing first was gonna come and show the other that we were still there. So, he passed in April and our wedding anniversary is in May. When he passed we actually were separated, but in a good place in our relationship.
I own a computer and printer like everybody, but I don’t use it, so I never turn it on. And the printer is not plugged into the wall or the computer. The morning of our anniversary, the printer started by itself. It’s been doing it every special occasion, like his birthday, our anniversary, Christmas, my birthday, etc.. So one night I turned everything that could bring lights, the TV, the cable box.. And in my window I have a thick black drape cause I was working over night. Then I took 7 pics, and on only one of them I captured an orb which I tried to debunked and I couldn’t.
So be aware that your loved ones are with you after. It’s a reality.
