The following report was sent into our website by Stephen on Nov 3, 2011:
“A friend of mine over 30 years ago told me about an incident in her apartment. She moved into an apartment in the downtown area and was still in the process of meeting neighbours. One day while she was home, an ashtray on the end table flipped off the table on its own and shattered on the floor. She thought nothing of it at the time other than a strong breeze causing it to come off the table. A few days later another ashtray fell off a shelf and broke. This happened several more times. She was telling this story to someone one day on the elevator and was told that someone had died in a fire in her apartment due to a cigarette.”
