Ghost report from Jasmin on May 19, 2015:

“It was November 16, 2010. I was sleeping over at my aunt’s house. We were alone and she cooked my favs.. As we were eating, we saw someone across the kitchen. But we ignored it cause we thought we were tired as we finished eating.

We went to bed and I woke up around 2/3: 30 in the morning by the sound of the knocking on the window. I looked out the window, no body was there. There wasn’t trees or something that could’ve knocked. I heard the knocking again. It didn’t come from the window this time, it was coming from my aunties mirror. I screamed, I woke up my auntie and we ran out. Shaking and scared, we’ve been outside for 4 hours. It was about 7 am in the morning when we went inside. My aunt just moved into that house. We never slept in that room again. There was 4 different bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.

Then the next day I heard a woman crying in the bathroom. I thought it was my aunt, but it wasn’t her. I would tease my aunt when she cried, I’d always say “stop crying now, you’ll wet the floor” then the woman laughed and cried at the same time.. She spoke… She said “LEAVE ME ALONE” it was scary.. My aunt came upstairs and heard it.. She threw the shopping bags and ran downstairs.. We both did.”

Topsail Road – Haunted St. John’s Database

Location: St. John’s, NewfoundlandCanada
Type: road
Built: n/a

Ghost report by Ron on December 11, 2014:

“My brother had a fly tying kiosk in Sobey’s Square about the year 2000. And at the same time I had a cheap office on Kenmount Road, also for tying flies. One evening at dusk, I left my brother’s kiosk to go to my office. The best route is out Topsail Rd and up over Walton’s Mountain. Just up the road from the square, there is a school, Mary Queen of the World, I think — a school I had driven by a thousand times before. You know that feeling, just another place that you hardly take notice of.

As I approached it there was a cross walk, with someone starting to cross from my side of the road and to the school side. So I stop my car and let the person cross. When the person reached the sidewalk they simply vanished into thin air. There was nowhere for the person to hide, as there is just the huge parking lot for the school.

Kinda shocked, I looked to my right. And again another place one hardly notices, as ya pass by oh so many times, a graveyard. Just exactly before the graveyard there was (they are gone now) two concrete pillars, and a walkway going up through and between the two pillars. This is directly where the cross walk was, and still is today.

I never just seen the image, I reacted to it. I stopped for it and let it cross on the cross walk. I have always wondered – what the %$#^ did I see? It is one of those things in life ya never forget.”

St. John’s Ghosts: Keep Your Eye On Her

Location: St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada

Ghost report from Leigh-Anne on June 16, 2014:

“When I was 24 I got out of UNI and was now a vet. My apricot pug, Belle, would come to work with me. The first day I was on desk duty and a old lady with stringy black hair came in and gave me a crooked smile. I smiled and said “hello”. One of the other workers looked at me weirdly and asked who I was talking to, “The old lady didn’t you see her?” I questioned. She shook her head. I thought it was first day jitters so I cleared my mind.

I went home to my boyfriend and his buddy playing video games in the basement. I fed the dog and when I went down to put her kibbles a crackled voice hummed in my ear, “Keep your eye on her” it said. I turned around thinking it was my boyfriend Ed, but when I looked the same figure was there but it had a demonic smile. I screamed and it flew away saying that it would be back.

Shortly after that I did research about the house and an old lady use to take animals and fry them up in this very house. Me and Ed moved and had two children. We never heard from the ghost since.”

College of the North Atlantic: La Brown Building – Haunted Newfoundland Database

Location: Stephenville, Newfoundland, Canada

The following report was sent into our website by Margaret on March 25, 2014:

“I was in school in LA Bown Building doing my courses in 2006 in the cafeteria eating my lunch with a friend. When I looked up and saw a guy with 1950s clothing moving around music equipment on the stage. I didn’t think anything of it but something forced me to watch him.

After a while, he walked behind the stage but never saw him afterwards. About half an hour later a few of the music Industry students came in and started asking me if I moved the equipment. I said no that one of their classmates did.

When I described him they said that nobody fit that description and everybody was in class. I did some research and he was somebody who died in that school in the 1950’s. I believe what I saw was a ghost.”

St. John’s Ghosts: Stay Out Of My House!!

Location: St.John’s, Newfoundland, Canada

The following report was sent into our website by Sabrina on Sept 16, 2013:

“I was 17 at the time. My sister she was 18 moved out with her friend to get away from our mom. Anyway a year had passed and she asked if I would like to sleep over and I said yes. That night me, my sister and her friend stayed up watching every horror movie we could find. When we designed it was time for bed we put everything away and went to sleep. Me and my sister shared a room, her friend was down the hall to us. Some time that night I woke up to someone walking down the hall to my sister’s room. I thought it was my sister’s friend so I went back to sleep. Again that night me and my sister woke up to her friend screaming. Me and my sister ran to her friend’s room to make sure she was ok. We pushed opened the door. My sister’s friend is in the corner of the room next to the door. And on her bed was a middle age women sitting in the middle of the bed, just staring at her. My sister grabbed her friend and we ran out of the house. Me and my sister waited by the side of the house because we thought she broke in and we didn’t want her to get away. So my sister’s friend went to her friend’s house to call the cops. When they came we told them what happened. The cops went in. They came out a few minutes later and said that no one is in the house, but they did find a note that said “stay out of my house!!”

A few weeks later my sister and her friend moved out. I asked them once if they would ever go back, they said “over my died body”.

St. John’s Ghosts: Great-Grandma Knits

Location: St.Johns, Newfoundland, Canada

The following report was sent into our website by Lionel on May 24, 2013:

“My own personal story from St.Johns Newfoundland, on McNaughten Drive. I used to wake up in the middle of the night to go downstairs and use the bathroom between the ages of 3-5years old. Every night I would get up to use the bathroom, I would look right, down the hall, to always see the same old lady sitting in her rocking chair. By my living room window, on the left side if you were facing it, rocking back and forth, knitting the same thing over and over again. I used to try and talk to the ghost some nights. She had a warm feeling about her, and she would only reply with “be a good boy” “listen” and “go back to bed”, and in the morning her and her rocking chair would be gone. No sign of her being there until the next night!!

I used to tell my dad about the lady in our house, he thought it wasn’t true, until I turned 13. When I have enlightened my mother about the ghost, she asked :what did she look like?”. I said “she had grey hair, done up in a bun style, with black glasses on, and wore a blue denim button down dress, sitting on a old wooden rocking chair every night knitting.” My mom’s face dropped and said that sounds like your great-grandmother Mitchell. Then I replied with “I only told you a few details. How could you know who she is?”. So she called my grandfather and got a picture emailed over to our house, so I could see if it was her. With little hope, and doubt, on it being the same lady I saw, the picture came through and my mom printed it and handed it to me. And my face dropped, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. The same lady in that photo was the same exact lady I saw over and over again. And my great-grandmother Mitchell, had passed away before I was born. And on top of that, she had never moved out of Alberta!!!!”
