The following report was sent into our website by Chris on Jan 30, 2014:
“I was living at a place on Elgin st. a couple of years ago with a roommate. She was a little older and grew up on an old farm in North Gower, about 30min outside of town. She had lived there for approximately 8years before I moved in. At the time I moved in she was away on vacation for a couple of months, so I moved into the only open room available, which I have come learn now was her old room.
A few months went by and there were no issues, great place, lots of space, lots of parties. One night after working I was asleep in bed when I was awoken by a loud pop sound, so I looked around my room to find something standing at the end of my bed. I thought I was just tired, so I put my head back down for a minute and then proceeded to look again, only to find the spirit had moved. It was now leaning against the wall, with one leg up. I would best describe what I saw as an old farmer, wearing overalls, hat, boots and with a stocky build. A few days went by, doing the best I could to dismiss what I had seen, I didn’t want to really talk or think about it. A few days later I was talking to my roommate, and I asked her if she believed in ghosts, she reluctantly said yes. So I started to describe what I had seen that night, and as I was trying to complete the story, she is starting to complete it for me. She mentioned the hat, the overalls and most shocking is how he was standing.
I have now since moved from my place on Elgin st, where I only saw the ghost that one night. I spent some time living at a couple of different places, lived in Australia for a year and have now moved back home for a short while.
So the story goes on..
A couple of weeks ago I woke up to see the same ghost as before standing in my room. This now at the house I grew up in, he was reading a paper, wearing all the same clothes as before, leaned up against my dresser.
Things have continued to get progressively weirder in my room at night, and around my house. My sister reporting hearing sounds of bottles rattling around. I have had terrible dreams (about spirits attacking me in bed), uneasy sleeps and feelings of being “watched” while trying to sleep.
I hope it comes to an end soon, a good night of sleep and some ease at home would be nice.”
