Built: 1793
Cold Spot Paranormal Research™ went out to investigate Old Fort York in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Our team experienced something odd during our investigation:
Two people with us that day saw “somebody” sitting at the benches next to the cannon. They also claimed to see other apparitions of individual soldiers walking the grounds on and off throughout our visit there.
REPORTS FROM OTHER SOURCES:
A female apparition is said to walk around the officers’ quarters
A heavy door has been reported to sometimes slam shut on its own
SITE HISTORY:
Founded in 1793 by Lt.Governor John Graves Simcoe to fortify British control of Lake Ontario. In 1813, being vastly outnumbered by the invading American troops, the fort’s soldiers blew up the gun powder store. Due to the explosion, the fort was almost entirely destroyed, and many were killed. They reconstructed it, and the fort was successful at holding the Americans at bay in 1814. Fort York is Canada’s largest collection of restored “War of 1812” buildings.
CONCLUSION (written by Michelle McKay):
Photo M3001A looks like a hair, spider web or string of some sort. I really don’t think this is anomalous.
Photo M3001B, well, two of my investigators pointed out to me that they saw somebody sitting there. I personally could not see anybody sitting there no matter how I squinted my eyes. So we took a picture of it, which was photo M3001B. Evidence should ideally speak for itself. This photo does not speak for itself.
All in all, it was an interesting investigation. Even though we really didn’t get any impressive evidence, the reports of hauntings here is numerous. Oh well, maybe next time.
