The following report was sent into our website by Margaret on April 9, 2012:

“In the 1970s, when the Doctor’s House was just a private tea shop, my mother worked there as a waitress. Upstairs, where all of the offices were located, there were various family portraits hanging in the hallway. Every single morning, the waitresses would hang up the pictures, which were found on the floor. They had assumed that they were taken down to be cleaned by the janitor, and simply left on the floor to dry. This went on for about a year, until the waitresses realized something, there was no janitor. The waitresses noticed that this carried on for years after, with no explanation. The paintings just fell.

Further, there was also a root cellar in the building, also known as the cold room. My mom, as a veteran waitress, had rookie waitresses partake in an initiation ritual: Go down to the root cellar to retrieve something. The horrifying part was that the waitresses would often hear a woman’s voice calling out to them, causing them to run up in fear, screaming. There was never an explanation for the voice.

Finally, there were swinging doors to the kitchen from the dining room. A friend of my mom’s, a cook, claimed that the doors would constantly swing open and closed, at night, once again without an explanation. At one time, after she had turned around towards the opened doors, a hand gripped her shoulder momentarily, causing her to gasp in alarm. She claimed that that was the only time that she had ever been scared working at the restaurant.

These mysteries had carried on for years, still without an explanation. However, many years later, a plausible explanation arose: the Doctor’s House was called such due to the doctor who used to own it in the early 20th century. He had a daughter who had disappeared when she was young, about in her twenties. The doctor’s explanation was that she had gone as a missionary to Africa, and had simply gone missing. However, many people believed at that time that the daughter had gotten pregnant, and that she had died while the doctor was administrating an abortion. She and her baby, (fetus), had then been buried in the basement, also known as the root cellar. Her body was never found. The only trace was the faint voice calling out to the other young women as they visited the basement.

Is her voice a warning? Or could it be a message to leave the sight of the abortion. Either way, the Doctor’s House scares away many people, but only young women.”

Update sent into our website by Marita on Nov 2, 2015:

“This woman haunts my house now, looking for her baby, we often hear screams and a baby crying. We have been touched. Surgical equipment is missing mysteriously from our house (from the basement). We have seen her and heard her voice. My kids see her. I live across the street from the doctors house, in Kleinburg.”
