The following report was sent into our website by Bertue on May 15, 2014:
“This is not a ghost story. It is a story about a visitation from an angel.
When I was sixteen, I was in the kitchen with my brother preparing lunch. I heard a knock at the door. When I went there a man asked if I had anything that he could eat for lunch. He was very tall, slender, neatly dressed in a plain pair of tan pants and white shirt with rolled-up sleeves. I told him to sit on the steps up to the next landing and wait.
I went inside and began to make a sandwich and pour a cup of coffee. My brother asked me why and I told him, a man was hungry and I wanted to feed him. My brother said, “don’t do that, he’ll be coming back every day.” I ignored him and gave the man the food.
After a while I went outside to see if he wanted anything more and he was gone. The cup sat neatly on the step.
Once I was talking to a pastor about the experience and he told me about Abraham entertaining angels unbeknownst to him. I may have done so, because from that day to this, no matter how bad things got, I have never, ever been hungry.”
