Newsham Hospital’s doors in the UK have been closed for over 15 years. The local news, Liverpool Echo, reported yesterday that the hospital will be undergoing renovations. And guess what it will be re-opening as? A wedding chapel, believe it or not, complete with a restaurant and bar.
The building was originally an orphanage in 1954, “where cruel punishments were said to be inflicted on its children”. Then it was a mental institution in the 90’s. A perfect place for a wedding chapel, don’t you think?
It is located in what is called Newsham Park, which is in Liverpool, Merseyside, England.
Overnight ghost tours are being offered at the hospital via Liverpool’s ‘Haunted Happenings’ later this month. But, if you’re thinking of attending then you are too late. They are already sold out!
